Organic Sunflower seed greens have a hearty, slightly salty taste that pack an awesome crunch. They are one of our favorite microgreens. Organic Sunflower seeds greens are rich in chlorophyll, enzymes, vitamins, proteins, and the most important "nutrient", the life force. Sunflower seed greens are a tender baby vegetable, high in chlorophyll, and a substitute for lettuce. So delicious! Because microgreens are increasing in popularity all over the world, they are considered an emerging food product. As such, there has been some research done on their nutrition and nutrient levels in microgreens. its been found that microgreens generally have more vitamins and other nutrients than their fully mature counterparts, and in some cases as much as a 40 times greater concentration. Due to the enzymes that are activated during sprouting, the sprouts are more easily digested than the dry seeds. The sprouted greens are a richer source of vitamins than the dry seeds… Young leaves of sunflower lettuce are rich in cholorphyll.

Directions for growing sunflower shoots (indoor growing only)
Soak: Soak seed in water for 4 - 8 hrs. Drain. Spread two layer deep in the bottom of a sprouting tray with drainage holes.
Rinse: Rinse or mist twice a day, carefully at first so you don't disturb the seed until the roots catch onto the tray. Cover between rinses. For darker green leaves cover with clear plastic.
Enjoy: Ready to harvest in 8-10 days.
